The Paradox Sports Veteran program provides a transformative experience for military members (veterans and active duty) who have a disability (wounded, injured or ill).
Paradox Sports will be taking 5-7 injured or disabled veterans up an unforgettable ascent of Mt. Rainier in Washington. The summit day is the 4th of July as a commemorative moment for all those who have served this country. The varied levels of experience, ages and backgrounds of the participants and volunteers will add to this powerful journey involving hard work, mentoring, focus, camaraderie, and trust.
Mt Rainier is a very rigorous climb requiring a high level of conditioning and physical fitness. We encourage you to get an idea of the requirements by visiting this website: https://www.alpineascents.com/rainier-climb-emmons-train.asp. (We will be climbing a different route but it is a good gauge of the difficulty.)
We have an incredible team of climbers, experts in Mt. Rainier, ready to create an amazing exeperience with you!
Participation in this event is free for military members (veterans and active duty). You will be responsible for your transportation to and from the event. We have a successful fundraising platform called Crowdrise that we can utilize with your participation if financial assistance is needed.
We send a huge thank you to Marmot, Silver Cloud Inn - University District, and an anonymous donor for their ongoing support of our Veterans Program as well as our incredible volunteers.
