Workshop On

Negotiating For Pay

Have you ever negotiated for higher pay for a new or existing job? If not, why not? One cause of the pay gap between men and women is that men negotiate for their pay much more often that women do:  Sheryl Sandberg in her book Lean In cited a study that found 57% of male graduates from Carnegie-Mellon University negotiated for their starting salary, compared to only 7% of female graduates. What's holding us back? Among other factors, we typically are not taught to negotiate for pay, but this workshop can help!

Emily Kitchin from 9 to 5 Wisconsin will present a workshop on Negotiating for Pay, a critical skill to help close the pay gap as we recognize the lack of progress towards Equal Pay. Emily will provide tips and techniques in this informative hands-on workshop, sponsored by the Mid-Day Women's Alliance Legislation Committee and the Women's Fund for the Fox Valley Region. Attendance is limited to 80 participants, so reserve your seat now!
