At July's Second Thursday event, Trend in Educational Technology, two keynote speakers will present their thoughts on the rapidly evolving and increasingly crucial use of technology in all facets of education. As our educational system evolves new and improved software and innovative technologies become ever more necessary to allow teachers and administrators to continue to deliver quality education amidst budget constraints and increasing measurement requirements.

Keynote Speaker Bio's:

Chris Curran brings 20 years of experience in banking, consulting, operations, and policy in the education industry, and is well known as a thought leader and speaker in the field. Previously he led the Education and Training practice at Berkery Noyes and in his six years at the firm, Chris has become the pre-eminent education industry investment banker, having personally initiated, negotiated, and managed more than $2 billion in transaction volume in virtually every sub-segment within preK-12, postsecondary, and corporate training sectors. Chris began his career as the Research and Policy Director for the Massachusetts House of Representatives where he supervised a staff of 30 and was intimately involved in the development of several initiatives focused on educational reform, charter school funding, and the implementation of educational technology in Massachusetts public schools. He currently serves on the Board of Trustees at Education Week and Editorial Projects in Education, is on the Bill and Melinda Gates-sponsored Games and Learning Publishing Council, and is on the Board of Adopt-A-Classroom Inc.

Jean Hammond has been an angel investor for 15 years and is an active member of Launchpad Hub and the Boston forum of Golden Seeds. She has served as a board member or a board level advisor to more than 25 companies while on the board of the Capital Network and in other eco-system support roles. She was the co-founder of two technology startups in the Boston area, AXON Networks and Quarry Technologies. Most recently, Jean is a partner and co-founder of LearnLuanch supporting innovation in education and community for Edtech collaborative co-working space and the LearnLaunch Accelerator provides world class mentoring to selective cohort growth-oriented Edtech companies.
