Early Adopters, Visionaries, Makers Unite @ SILO

This month, SMPS San Diego brings its Original Leverage Your Beverage (LYB) networking series to the unique outdoor event space, SILO in Makers Quarter. Described as a “launch pad” to explore this nascent and evolving neighborhood, SILO was “established as a year-round event venue to bring collaborative community and creative culture to East Village."

To welcome our growing crowd to the space, the following local urban planners + architects with intimate knowledge of the area's master plan and its implementation, will discuss their vision for the resurgence of the area. Our speakers include:

Stacey Lankford Pennington, SLP Urban Planning – Urban Planner with Makers Quarter
Martin Poirier, Spurlock Poirier Landscape Architects - Landscape Architect for Makers Quarter
Frank Wolden, Skyport Studio – Principal urban designer in the planning of Upper East Village
Doug Austin, AVRP Studios – Architect/Developer of proposed “gateway” developments @ 17th & G Streets

Along with an excellent presentation and plenty of time for networking with colleagues and clients, our gracious event sponsors, Hensel Phelps Construction and McCullough Landscape Architecture, will host a food truck for the peckish and beverages for the thirsty. So please join us, as we gather, connect and peer into the future of another promising Downtown San Diego neighborhood.

Cost: $25 Members / $40 Non-Members (includes meal and one drink ticket)

Registration has been extended to 5:00pm Wednesday, April 23!

After April 23, a Walk-in Rate of $50 will apply.

24 hours notice is required for cancellations. No shows will be billed accordingly.
