ITRbasecamp testimonials

  • I'm not yet sure to what extent I would use it, but I love the idea! In particular, a changing area would be useful for many. But, even more importantly, how wonderful to know that someone is there for the specific purpose of helping and supporting you! What a blessing!
  • The ITR base camp was awesome last year!
  • Great idea! Not knowing the weather conditions can be very helpful!
  • I would certainly appreciate the ITR Basecamp acting as my "crew" because I do not have anyone to come with me. Your support would be so very needed and much welcomed!
  • I actually didn't know you offered pacers.... Oh YES please! I can only imagine the loss of focus that would accompany the wee hours of the morning. Pacing aid would just be SUPER appreciated! Thank you :))

IT100 ITRbasecamp service

The online service is officially closed but please plan on stopping by to hang ut at the ITRbasecamp and support the runner's as they come though.  Thank you for your support.

We are excited for the IT100 and look forward to helping everyone accomplish their goals during the events.  I am guessing that ITR represents over 30-40% of the field this year!

ITR plans to AUGMENT what IT100 is offering to runners, NOT replace it  (example - a general drop bag area, food (soups, sandwiches, pizza, many more items),  water and fluid replacement drinks will be readily available for runners thanks to IT100 and their staff at dedicated start/finish and aid station areas.

What ITR provides is an upscale concierge service to its members in the 50 and 100 mile races and, to a limited extent, their crews and a place to gain support throughout your race distance.  We will have minimal food available to its volunteers, crews, and runners throughout the entire weekend.  There will also be a refreshment stand available for anyone wanting to purchase food from the beach area.

We would like to both share and gather data in this short note:

What you can expect from ITR:

  • The ITRbasecamp (20x30 walled canopy)  will serve as a communal area with community chairs and a place to dump a bag if the race drop bag area gets too overwhelming for you. We will also have 2 10X10 areas for changing clothes and a recovery area.  It will be a great place for crews and support staff's to hang out, recover, and go back out to support its athletes.
During the event Debi Alexander, Todd Whisman, Jess Rowe, myself, and i'm sure along with several others that will be manning the ITRbasecamp.  Dave Haughs and Will Snyder will be running around doing video and photography.
  • Dedicated Space -  We plan to have 12-15 drop off spaces (sized 4'x6')  for runners who request a dedicated area for the 100 mile event.  If you want a spot  please sign up!
  • Communal Area - For those needing a place to warm up or a quick change of shoes or clothing throughout the event but not a dedicated space, ITR will have a communal area for this also at the ITRbasecamp.  This is for both 50 and 100 mile participants!
  • Pacers -  Based upon our information we will try to provide pacers for our ITR member's.  Please let us know through this survey if you need a pacer (what laps) and we will try to provide one.
  • The ITRbasecamp will serve as the "hang out" location after you've finished the race and want to support and cheer other participants on afterwards. We will have a donation box onsite and to can also pay during the event.
What we would like from you:
  • Let us know if you would like to reserve at 4x6 space by filling out the survey.
  • Please consider a monetary donation towards base camp to help cover tent rental, supplies, food, beverage, etc.  ITR does not have a membership at this time so we rely on our sponsors and members to help cover the cost of these services.  Suggested donations -
    • $25 if you reserve a space for the entire event. (dedicated space)
    • $10 if you're just hanging out in the tent and using it as a drop bag area and a plase to hang out and socialize for the day.  This is for both 50 and 100 mile participants! (communal area)
  • We will have a volunteer staff of 1-2 at any point in time during the event so all help is greatly appreciated.
  • If you are requesting a pacer!  PLEASE provide us with expected (rough estimated) pace or return time if you requested a pacer and one is available.
  • Please bring a bag chair if you have one, favorite beverages, and even some food to share with other ITR member's, crew, and support staff if you desire.
