GOAL

To bring together local health care providers, social service providers, and public health providers to translate recent scientific advances, policy changes, and public health trends into actions that will improve the health of families and infants.

OBJECTIVES

  • Gain knowledge and skills to identify and work with fragile families.
  • Use data to support the development of programs and approaches to improve the health of the family and infant.
  • Apply innovative strategies to encourage preconception health and effective fathering to improve the health of families and birth outcomes.

APPROVAL STATEMENTS:  

Cook Children's Medical Center is an approved provider of continuing nursing education by the Texas Nurses Association, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation. 

This activity is awarded 5.0 contact hours.  Participants must attend the activity in its entirety, and complete and return the evaluation tool.  

Cook Children’s Medical Center is approved as a provider of continuing education for Licensed Professional Counselor’s by the LPC Board of Examiners for the State of Texas (Provider #1022) and Licensed Marriage and Family Therapists by the LMFT Board of Examiners for the State of Texas (Provider # 385). These approvals meet the criteria for mandatory continuing education requirements towards relicensure as established by the individual Boards of Examiners for the State of Texas. CCMC designates this activity for a maximum of 5.0 contact hours (0.5 CEU) and 5.0 contact hours for professional ethics  

Cook Children’s is approved as a provider of continuing education for Social Workers by the Texas Board of Social Work Examiners (Provider # 5164). This activity is designated for a maximum of 5.0 Social Worker contact hours and 5.0 hours of professional ethics and social work values.
