Foundations of Selling Workshop

Join HSMAI for breakfast and an action packed, half day workshop on the Foundations of Selling featuring Bob Anderson of Star Performance Training. Bob will take you through the sales process from start to finish and offer essential tips to help any hotelier build a strong foundation of sales knowledge, strategies and tactics.

The Foundations of Sales workshop will cover:

  • Your attitude towards selling
  • How and why people buy…you might be surprised
  • Selling is more than just building Like and Trust with prospects
  • Be a solution provider, not a product pusher
  • Facing the fear of the Million Pound Phone
  • The two parts of selling and why you need a plan for each

Sales Solicitation:

  • Who is your ideal target and how do you find them
  • Scheduling time for selling success (doesn’t take as much time as one might think)
  • Tracking and measuring your prospecting activity
  • Setting yourself apart from your competition
  • Voice messages and first contact strategies
  • Emails that are opened, read and create curiosity

Sales Intel:

  • Oops! The prospect answered, now what?
  • P.I.N. Pointing (uncovering logical and emotional motivators)

About our Speaker: 

Bob Anderson is the President of Star Performance, Inc. Bob has been in the business of sales development and training since 1983. He has developed training programs for a variety of customers in different segments of the hospitality industry. Bob is a featured speaker whose entertaining and upbeat presentation style has earned him rave reviews by many hospitality organizations. Bob is also on the Board of Directors for the HSMAI Minnesota Chapter.

Star Performance, Inc. was founded in 1995 based on discussions with a group of our peers in the hospitality industry indicating that training was desperately needed. That is not just training for training's sake, but training that is customized to each organization and will provide each employee with the knowledge to perform their jobs with core competencies that lead to associate confidence.
