Registration is re-opened! Spread the word - invite your friends, family, neighbors, and co-workers to join us on build day. Together, we'll make sure that the kids in our neighborhood have the fun and safe place the play that they deserve!

The Brewer's Community Foundation is generously underwriting our playground project, but Our Next Generation is responsible for raising a portion of the funds as well. Thanks to the generousity of community members and sponsors, we're almost there! Can you help us close the gap?

On June 26th, hundreds of volunteers will come together to build a new community playground in six hours or less! No construction experience is needed (but for safety reasons, please note construction volunteers must be 18 years or older ).

Prep Day (June 24th, 8am - 5pm)
Build Day (June 26th, 8am - 3pm)

Arriving and Parking:

  • Please plan to arrive on site by 8am.
  • Street parking near the build site will be limited on Build Day. There will be a shuttle from the Washington Park east lot (40th & Galena) running every 10 minutes starting at 7:30am.
  • Please plan to stay for the entire day (until 3pm).  The ribbon-cutting ceremony will begin at 2:30pm.

Food and Drink

  • Lunch and refreshments will be provided! (Vegetarian options available).
  • Help us keep this event “green”! If possible, please bring your own travel mug and/or water bottle that we can refill for you throughout the day.

Dressing for the Build

  • For your safety, please wear closed toed shoes.
  • We’ll be working outside rain or shine – please check the weather report and plan ahead! Pack your rain jackets, sunscreen, insect repellent, water bottles, and/or whatever else you might need to be comfortable.
  • If you are volunteering with your company, we ask that you please refrain from wearing branded clothing with your company’s logo. We want to mix and mingle together as one community!

More Ways to Help:

  • We are still in need of tools – if you have any of the following and would be willing to lend them for the day, please bring them with you!

                  *corded & cordless drills
                  *cemet hoes
                  *spade shovels

                  *digging bars

  • We’re so close to our fundraising goal for this project - please check out our fundraiser to help us close the gap! A donation of any amount automatically enters you into our drawing for brunch for two at Saz’s!

And Finally….

  • Please let us know if you are bringing any children!
There will be some youth programming and arts & crafts projects throughout the day. Please note that volunteers must be 18+ to participate in the build.
  • It’s not too late to be a Build Captain! Please let us know if you’re interested in leading a small group of volunteers on Build Day - no prior construction experience needed!
