Expanding Your Impact:  How To Engage the Broader Community on Energy Issues

(Formerly called "Effective Strategies" workshop)

This workshop will provide an overview of strategies that municipalities can use to engage community members in saving energy, including social media, rewards and recognition programs, energy aggregation and resiliency projects.  Hear about what other municipalities are doing to reduce costs and greenhouse gases.

Topics to be discussed include:

  • Innovative media outreach strategies -- Using social media, such as Facebook and Twitter to promote your campaign
  • Motivation Campaigns -- Rewards and recognition programs
  • Government Energy Aggregation -- And other facilitated procurement mechanisms
  • Improving resiliency of community assets for community benefit --Projects that promote community resiliency
  • Leading by example - Municipal case studies
