Best Practices in Supply Chain Management: An Intro to Demand Driven Operational Principles

APICS Vancouver Chapter invites you to the APICS Demand Driven Operational Principles seminar at the Vancity Theatre, downtown Vancouver. Spend the evening learning about Demand Driven operating methods including Demand Driven Material Requirements Planning (DDMRP).  These emerging operating methods are being employed by global giants such as Unilever in order tackle three pervasive problems of today's operations and supply chain environment: unacceptable inventory performance, inadequate service level performance, and large expedite related expenses and waste. You’ll meet local industry colleagues and get the chance to grow your professional network.

Co-author of the third edition of Orlicky's Materials Requirements Planning and co-author of Demand Driven Performance – Using Smart Metrics presents industry best practices that enable agile supply chain management in today's complex environment. In this presentation Chad Smith from the Demand Driven Institute will take you through the basic principles of the Demand Driven operating method including:

  1. The problem facing formal planning and scheduling in the "New Normal"
  2. The need for the promotion and protection of system flow and its connection to ROI
  3. The Five basic steps to becoming Demand Driven

 Our Keynote Speaker

Chad Smith, Partner and Program Director, Demand Driven Institute, LLC

Chad Smith is the co-author of the third edition of Orlicky’s Material Requirements Planning 3/E (Ptak and Smith, McGraw-Hill, 2011) and the co-author of Demand Driven Performance – Using Smart Metrics (Smith and Smith, McGraw-Hill, 2013).  He is a co-founder and Partner at the Demand Driven Institute, an organization dedicated to proliferating demand driven methods globally. More on Demand Driven MRP

Demand Driven MRP (DDMRP) is the formal planning and execution solution for the 21st Century introduced in the new Orlicky's Materials Requirements Planning that provides the ability to sense, adapt, and serve today's highly volatile and complex demand chains. The DDMRP method replaces the previous convention of Safety Stock with strategically replenished positions that decouple the supply chain and compress lead time response.
