The Teachers:

Joanne Winstanley

Since 2001 Joanne Winstanley has held a steady space for the growth and evolution of a robust 5Rhythms community in Victoria, BC, and shared her love of this practice with thousands of students throughout the region. A natural catalyst, she uses evocative music, clear intention, good humour – and her spidey-senses – to consistently create a field where energy moves and healing happens.  As a teacher, student, producer, and collaborator, Joanne holds a deep respect for both the transformational nature of the 5Rhythms practice, and for the unique discovery process of each participant.

Bettina Rothe

Bettina Rothe is a licensed 5Rhythms® dance teacher and has studied healing movement arts, psychology, meditation, and shamanic practices. She has been teaching movement and meditation classes internationally since 1998 including retreats at Hollyhock. Bettina's teaching style is inviting, inspiring and supportive. In her work she balances spiritual elements with practicality, humour and a deep knowledge of human behaviour.

HARVEST
A 5Rhythms®  retreat with Bettina Rothe and Joanne Winstanley
August 29 - 31, 2014 at  Stowel Lake Farm
Salt Spring Island, BC

“When the fruit is ripe, it drops from the tree by itself.”
-- Osho

Harvest is the time of year when crops are gathered from the fields. When seeds that were planted long ago, and tended over time - sometimes with plenty of care and sometimes in random fashion - come into their fullness and fruition.

As in the natural world, we also experience cycles and phases of growth in our lives, in our careers, and in our relationships: times of planting, tending, growing, gathering and sharing.

In this retreat we will use the 5Rhythms® movement map, ritual, and inquiry to explore:  What gifts do we bring to the table?  How do we give and receive nourishment in community?  What has been ripening in you?  What is now ready to be shared?

Come gather round the table.  We invite you to pause at this time of year to take in the fullness of your own harvest – to be nurtured by good food grown here on the land, to gather in community, to dance, to take stock, to celebrate, share, and savour the gifts that each of us bring.

The 5Rhythms®  are an exhilarating and liberating approach to the exploration of improvised movement that is authentic, inspired and catalytic. It is a workout for body and soul, a moving meditation, a spiritual practice designed to release the dancer that lives in every body,
regardless of age, experience or condition.

We invite you to join us for this exploration and time to rejuvenate.
No previous 5Rhythms® experience is required.
