More Event Details

This will be a real time based event focusing on the movement of the US and CS troops prior and during the Battle of Franklin.  Both U.S. and C.S. troops will begin their marches, as did the original men, at Winstead Hill, two miles south of of the Carter House. We will only portray TWO regiments at Franklin. The Confederate unit is the 20th Tennessee Infantry, and the Federal unit is the 44th Missouri Infantry. Uniform guidelines are lower on this page. Federal troops will occupy a position in the back yard of the Carter House origianlly held by the 44th Missouri Infantry.  The Confederate troops, portraying the 20th Tennessee Infantry, will also follow the historic timelime and advance toward the Carter House from Winstead Hill, following the same historic route. Participants will recreate the charge of the 20th TN Inf. and the defiant stand of the 44th MO Inf. ON THE EXACT GROUND where the ORIGINAL BATTLE WAS FOUGHT 150 year before! All participants, U.S. and C.S., must first go to the Carnton Plantation on arrival to register. Event parking will be at the Carnton Plantation where you will leave your vehicle, and troops will be moved from there. Weather permitting, Wendell Decker will be on site making wet plate images, so bring what you want for an image. Get ready for an incredible experience! Matt, Pat, Brian, Art and Justin, The Widows' Sons Mess, look forward to seeing you there!
