SCORE Ventura County presents its Entrepreneur Academy acclaimed series of workshops targeted to operating a small business. Each workshop targets training and problem solving of issues faced in the day to day management of a small business in today's highly competitive environment. This series is designed to help entrepreneurs better understand how they can improve both the top and bottom line financials of their company.
July 22 - Legal Issues Facing a Small Business: Starting with the decision of how to structure a company, business owners are in constant need of sound legal advice. Topics: Basic understanding of different types of legal entities; Practical tips about intellectual property; Preserve a business’s own trade secrets and intellectual property.
Presented by Roy Schneider: Upon graduation served as Counsel for Bank of America in its Los Angeles Corporate Office. He later joined an established firm in Ventura, California where he was a principal until August 2012, when Roy established his own law firm, Schneiders & Associates, L.L.P. He served for 15 years as a Professor of Corporations Law at Ventura College of Law, and taught for five years as an Adjunct Professor of Business Law of a course entitled Ethics, Executive Integrity and Social Responsibility at Antioch University in Santa Barbara, California.
