All New from Spiral's 'Treatment Tips and Tricks' LiveTalk Series!!

Treating Tactile and Proprioceptive Processing

Featuring:
Jeannetta Burpee, MEd, OTR/L

July 28, 2014
7:00pm - 8:00pm EST

The Spiral Foundation is pleased to present to you the seventh LiveTalk in our 2014 series: Treating Tactile and Proprioceptive Processing!

In this LiveTalk we speak with Jeanetta D. Burpee MEd, OTR/L. We will discuss the difficulties that individuals with tactile and proprioceptive processing issues may face, as well as relevant intervention techniques and the rationale and clinical reasoning behind them. This LiveTalk is an excellent informational tool for anyone interested in the tactile and proprioceptive systems.

Learning objectives
By the end of this talk, the participant will be able to:

  1. Distinguish differences between tactile and proprioceptive inputs and how they relate to the issue of defensiveness.
  2. Identify how to treat the most common problems associated with tactile and proprioceptive deficits.
  3. Describe the clinical reasoning to determine if a child has these deficits and the best interventions to use.
  4. List several treatment techniques or “tricks” therapists might use to treat this area of dysfunction.

“LiveTalks” are audio only podcasts that are recorded live.  Recordings of past “LiveTalks” are available on the Spiral Foundation website: www.thespiralfoundation.org.

Jeannetta D. Burpee, M.Ed, OTR/L, is an internationally respected lecturer and clinician with over 35 years of clinical experience working with people of all ages and the full range of developmental disorders.  Previously the owner of the Jeannetta D.
