We will discuss the difficulties that individuals with tactile and proprioceptive processing issues may face, as well as relevant intervention techniques and the rationale and clinical reasoning behind them. Jeannetta D. Burpee, M.Ed, OTR/L, is an internationally respected lecturer and clinician with over 35 years of clinical experience working with people of all ages and the full range of developmental disorders. Previously the owner of the Jeannetta D. Burpee Institute, Inc., Ms. Burpee has since moved to the rural mountains of Pennsylvania, and is presently in private practice, a consultant, instructor and treating therapist while also employed at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Elmirra, New York. She is Faculty Emeritus for Sensory Integration International, Torrence, California and certified to administer and interpret the Sensory Integration and Praxis Tests (SIPT).
