EXPLORING A YEAR OF OPENNESS IN CHILD WELFARE: THE STIGMA OF FOSTER CARE

Join us on Wednesday, July 9, 2014, at Emory Law School, from 1:30-3:45 p.m. in Room G575 for the next installment of the Child Welfare Legal Academy.  A panel of former foster youth from Georgia EmpowerMEnt will reflect on their experiences in foster care, particularly with respect to any stigma they experienced as a result of being labeled a "foster child."  A facilitated discussion will follow with the goal of exploring the unintended consequences of laws and procedures designed to maintain confidentiality and protect the privacy of children and families.

COST:
Registration:  $10  (cash/check at the door)
Registration + 2.0 CLE credits (GA Attorneys only):  $20 (cash/check at the door).
If you do not need CLE, you may simply pay the registration fee only.  For faster check-in, please have checks written and made payable to "Emory University."

Online registration is strongly encouraged. We aplogize that the online payment option is not available at this time. Please note that the nonrefundable registration fee for all participants is $10 and includes materials, 3-hour parking in the hospital visitor parking deck, and light refreshments.
