Dick Davis Memorial Scholarship
The Alumni Softball Tournament began as a way to honor and raise funds for the Dick Davis Memorial Scholarship. Mr. Davis was the founder and original president of the DeSales Athletic Association, dedicated to assisting the Athletic Department by providing necessary equipment and services. Mr. Davis assisted baseball and football coaches, kept statistics and score books, and physically improved field conditions for many years.
A $500 scholarship was established in 1997 and continues today. Past recipients include: 1997 Matt Delahunty, 1998 Dena Gregory, 1999 Jimmy Oldham, 2000 Bridjette Brown, 2001 Linda Shuler, 2002 Ciara Strapp, 2003 Sarah Corbett, 2004 Kaitlyn Schwartz, 2005 James Dickson, 2006 Joseph Manning, 2007 Dominic Pelino, 2009 Gabriella Clark, 2010 Matthew Paternoster, 2011 Elizabeth Williams, 2012 Ross O'Sullivan, 2013 Delaney Rice, 2014 Kyle Moon-a new Stallion in the fall!

St. Francis DeSales Alumni Softball Tournament
Please register your team for the 2014 Dick Davis Memorial Tournament at St. Francis DeSales High School at Alumni Stadium and the Stallion Baseball Field. All proceeds from the tournament go to the Dick Davis Memorial Scholarship Fund.
Tournament Entry Fee is $150.00 per team and includes up to15 t-shirts per team and 15 drink tickets. Additional t-shirts may be purchased upon request. Don't miss out on the fun...if your class does not have a team, register as a "free agent" and we will place you on a team.
Mens Division - Class of 1995-2010
All participants must be from the same graduating class. Teams may pick up no more than 3 free agents from a different class.
Legends Division - Class of 1994 & Older
Multiple classes may combine to form teams.

Tournament Rules:
Each team will participate in first round pool play games. Following pool play, a single elimination tournament will be played in each division. The championship game will feature the winner of the Legends Division vs the Men’s Division. Tournament structure is subject to change based on event responses. Tournament draw will take place at the St. Francis DeSales HS CLUSTER REUNION on Friday, July 11th at Gatsby’s at 8:00pm.
ASA rules with Texas Shootout format (batter starts with a 3-2 count). Rules and regulations not covered in the official ASA softball rule book or in these rules will be considered judgment calls of the officials.
Games will be played every 75 minutes beginning at 10:00am. Game time is forfeit time. Game length is 6 innings. No new inning may begin after 60 minutes. Mercy Rule is 20 runs after 3 innings or 15 runs after 4 innings.
One foul tip is permitted per batter, a second foul tip is an out.
Home team will be determined by a coin flip conducted by the umpire and managers before the beginning of each game.
There is no limit on home runs.
Ties in pool play will remain. There will be no ties in the single elimination tournament.
Unlimited substitutions are permitted.
