Safe Church Training - Christ Church Hyde Park 7.12.14

We have a large number of attendees at this workshop, so walk-in registrations are very limited. Please consider our upcoming workshops: August 23 in Osterville and September 20 in Walpole.
This is a six hour training session designed to:
1. Increase awareness regarding sexual misconduct
2. Increase awareness of abuse of power
3. Outline steps toward preventing abuse
4. Offer ways to intervene when misconduct occurs,
5. Equip anyone in a position of parish leadership with ways of healing and rebuilding the body of Christ.
Logistics: Christ Church is located at 1220 River Street in Hyde Park. The Number 32 bus to Cleary Square stops at Hyde Park Ave & River Street, .1 mile from the church. There is street parking on Maple Street at River Street. Doors open at 8 am for registration and light refreshments. Lunch will be provided by Christ Church; please indicate on the registration form if you have dietary restrictions.
The training begins promptly at 8:30 am and will follow this schedule of modules:
Introduction and Laying the Foundation
Modules I & II: Power/Vulnerability and Boundaries
Break
Module III: Harassment/Exploitation Abuse/Bullying
Module IV: Child, Elder and Domestic Abuse
LUNCH (provided)
Module V: Reporting
Module VI: Response/Healing
Module VII: Safe Church Policies
Wrap Up: Final Questions, Evaluation and Closing Prayer
This training is required of all clergy and diocesan employees. It is also suitable for all employees of congregations, for wardens, vestry members, Eucharistic Visitors (EV), pastoral visitors, youth leaders, confirmation sponsors, retreat mentors, acolyte leaders, choir directors, church school teachers, and volunteers working in the parish on a regular basis.
