On Becoming and AG-Entrepreneur AFTER Retirement
Mother and grandmother, Pam Mack was soon to retire. Instead of thinking about pulling out the knitting needles and rocking chair, Pam decided to go into the business of producing the healthiest food that she could for her family -- and customers!
Come and hear Pam’s story of how she planned the purchase of her land; how she researched the growing techniques best suited to her goals; and how she overcame the trials and tribulations of becoming an organic grower.
Visit with Pam Mack – an agricultural entrepreneur who created L Marie Ltd., a certified organic vegetable company, which also produces value-added vegetable products. Pam started L Marie Ltd., after retiring from 30 years of service for the State of Ohio. Pam participated in the Entrepreneur program through North Central State College Urban Center; has a bachelor of science in organizational management and master classes in administration. Pam is a master gardener volunteer in training, who volunteers at Kingwood Center and has over 20 years of experience in gardening.
Pam is currently participating in the North End Community Farmers Market and working with the FDA certification processes to produce the value-added vegetable products. As she shares her ag entrepreneurial journey with you, you will be pleasantly reminded that in the end – it is all about family and community.
