How Should the Business Owner Get Paid?

Most entrepreneurs who start new businesses miss a critical opportunity in designing their own compensation plan.  This discovery session aims to help the new business owner consider why establishing a salary plan is an important component to the viability and survival of the business.

This SCORE "short course" will evaluate common compensation trends among small business owners and ask the critical question as to Why Pay Yourself First?  A discussion on compensation planning templates - Gross Revenue, Expenses or Net Revenue will be offered.  Should the owners' compensation be based on a standard base, commission or a hybrid bonus arrangement?  What are the effect of taxes, deferred compensation and succession planning?  Finally, the seminar will cover key elements of industry benchmarking and financial statements.

Registratants to this seminar will have an opportunity to later meet with the Course Leader for a private, one-on-one meeting to cover compensation issues unique to their own business.  The follow-up meeting will be scheduled without additional cost.

Mr. Carlo Narciso, a SCORE Vancouver Certified Mentor, will lead this session.  Carlo is skilled at initiating improvements in diverse organizational cultures having presented over 20 years of broad business expertise even in unstructured settings.  Carlo Narciso is a consultative professional that is able to validate proposed business initiatives and provide strategic planning and support. He is an advocate of corporate efficiency and collaborative partnerships and is passionate about how business decisions affect the organization. Mr. Narciso thrives on impossible challenges, organizational change and high growth environments.

RSVP: To facilitate an active exchange of ideas, seating for this seminar is limited to only 8 registrants.  Register using the button below; a confirmation email will be sent to you.

Course fee is only $25
