Ann Hite Workshop

&

GAYA Authors Book Signing Event

On Saturday, August 9, 2014, the Georgia Writers Association is hosting a writers workshop AND a book signing event for the Georgia Author of the Year Award recipients! From 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM, Ann Hite will deliver a workshops titled, "Do Your Characters Have A Pulse?"

How can you make your characters stand off the page? What draws the attention of editors and agents? This is a class that will address character development in novels, but if the writer is a short story writer, they will benefit from taking this class too. We will spend the two hour workshop developing a character or characters, depending on how fast we move. The last thirty minutes will be dedicated to discussion about publication.

After the workshop, winners, finalists, and semi-finalists from this year's GAYA will be signing their award-winning books!

This year, the Georgia Author of the Year Awards had 118 nominees in 11 categories. Of the 118 nominees, there were 11 winners, 10 finalists, and 7 semi-finalists. A few of these award recipients will be with us on Saturday, August 9. You will have the opportunity to meet the following authors at the event:
