The early entry fee is $40 and Friday/Saturday registration is $50.  All participants must register and we offer an option to pay by check at the door (and still get the early registration discount).   We appreciate early registrations and look forward to great racing with great friends!   Non-sailors who want to sign up for the Steak Dinner on Saturday can also sign up online using this site.

The 8th Annual Glow in the Dark Regatta II, hosted by Clinton Lake Sailing Association, will be held September 26-28, 2013. Glow racers and visitors are welcome to camp on the CLSA ground.  Showers are available in the Clinton Marina.  There are several local hotels nearby:

Rules: This regatta will be governed by the rules as defined by the current edition of the Racing Rules of Sailing (RRS).  RRS 61.1(a)2 is deleted; all boats will comply with RRS 61.1. 

Eligibility:  The regatta is open to any Flying Scot. 

Registration:  All pre-registration must be completed online.   We are offering a $10 early registration discount and appreciate early registrations!  We offer an option to register online and pay at the door if you do not feel comfortable paying through Paypal.   Of course, sailors can register at the event if you decide to come at the last minute.   We will have registration avaibable Friday night and Saturday morning.  

Measurement:  All boats may be checked for safety equipment as required by the FSSA rules. 

Fees: The early entry fee is $40 and regular registration fee is $50.  Payments can be made online via Paypal.  Checks should be made out to Fleet 135 and mailed to Eric Bussell, PO Box 200, Savoy, IL 61874. 

Schedule:  This regatta will consist of five planned races, weather permitting.

Friday September 27:  5-9 pm registration and welcome party/potluck.

 

Saturday September 28:

8 am                 Registration, donuts and coffee at the pavilion

10 am               Skippers’ meeting

11 am               First warning signal. Second and third races to follow.

6:30 pm            Dinner at the pavilion

 

Sunday September 29:           

7-8 am             Hot Breakfast at the pavilion

9:30 am            Warning signal for fourth race. Fifth race to follow. No races started after noon.

1 pm                 Awards ceremony

 

Venue: Racing will take place on Clinton Lake using temporary marks.  Launching will be at the Clinton Lake Sailing Association boat ramp or at the nearby Clinton Lake Marina boat ramp.  While boats are being launched, they may be rafted at the CLSA dock, due to limited dock space.  Please bring bumpers if you have them.  Boats will be stored on trailers on the CLSA grounds in the appropriately marked areas.

Scoring: No races will be excluded from a boat's series score.  This changes RRS rule A2.  Appendix A Low Point Scoring System shall be used.  Five races are scheduled, of which one will constitute a regatta.

Radio Communication:  Boats shall not make or receive radio communication while racing. This includes mobile phones. Emergency communications are an exception. 

Awards: Trophies will be awarded to the skipper and crew of the top five finishes.
