Join us to learn more about characteristics of gifted students and how to identify these students for formal gifted education programs using Kansas regulations (MTSS).
General classroom differentiation and interventions, creativity, higher level thinking skills, problem solving and other strategies will also be discussed and practical ideas will be shared which can be used in the general education classroom as well as the gifted classroom.
This hands-on workshop will also provide tips for writing IEPs, models for service delivery and curriculum, working with gifted students (including twice-exceptional students), communicating with other educators and parents, and ways to meet the social-emotional needs of gifted students.
We will survey the needs of participants to discover the explicit needs of the group that is attending this workshop. Learnings will be tailored to YOUR needs!
The University of St. Mary is offering one graduate credit for participating in this workshop for a $50 fee. Registration for the graduate credit is available on-site the day of the session.
