PRSA Charlotte July 2014 Luncheon

Communication Across the Generations

Everyone likes the same type of communication style and the same type of service ... right? Nothing could be further from the truth. The truth is: your public relations team may not know how the four generations of PR professionals each impact the bottom line.

Public relations professionals must understand the attitudes and expectations of all four generations so they can work best with each. The days of "treat everyone the same" are no longer with us; now we must accept the needs and desires of the individual. What causes the generations to differentiate from one another?

Join us with speaker Tim Moore on Wednesday, July 23, for a journey exploring each generation and their unique values. What Gen X may prefer, Matures may think is outright rude. What Boomers define as "rapport building", Millenials may define as "a waste of time." Attendees will learn to value the attitudes and expectations of each of the four generations.

Each generation, with their unique values, defines and responds to a quality effective public relations experience in their own unique way. We will explore the biases of each of the four generations and give simple, easy-to-execute strategies for how to best work with each.

He is the owner and principal of the sales consultancy DEAG Sales Training and is editor of the online daily business magazine Carolina Business Connection in North Carolina’s Research Triangle region.

He has experience in sales and training spanning more than thirty years and numerous Fortune 500 companies, including PepsiCo, Gillette, Dow Chemical, L’Oreal USA and as an independent business owner.

When not working, Tim spends his free time obsessively playing his harmonica, learning to play his mandolin or traveling the world with his wife, Linda. He is one of about 80 million Baby Boomers who are still busy changing the world.
