ABOUT THE PRESENTERS

Carol L. Healey has over 30 years of experience in the litigation and trial of cases involving personal injuries, construction defects, product defects, environmental claims, toxic torts and the defense of public entities.  She has tried thirteen cases: twelve California cases and one federal case.  She has argued and successfully defended several appeals in State and Federal courts.  Ms. Healey obtained a J.D. from the University of California, Hastings College of Law.  

Edward M. Lai is Of Counsel with the General Liability and Construction Litigation Departments of Bishop | Barry | Drath.  He specializes in representing building contractors and small business owners in commercial disputes, employment advice and litigation, contract negotiation, construction defect litigation and tort/personal injury litigation.  Mr. Lai has experience in the fields of construction law, Americans With Disabilities (ADA) litigation, first party and third party insurance coverage, business entity formation, landlord rights, and perfecting/enforcing mechanic’s liens and stop notices.
