Affordable HealthCare Act, Ag Labor and Your Farm Seminar

Join us as we guide you through the legal-ease and mumbo-jumbo of the Affordable HealthCARE Act (also known as ObamaCARE).

We are offering this seminar over the following days and locations:

Tuesday, August 19          Moultrie, Georgia          9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.
Wednesday, August 20        Lyons, Georgia         9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.

*Registation opens one (1) hour before each Seminar.

The AHCA is complicated and it will affect everyone to some degree. Join us as we review employer requirements to offer health insurance as well as work through real examples to help you understand and apply these aspects in you farm operation.

Did you know if you hire a contractor to work on your farming operation, they may be counted toward your full time equivalent staff?

Do you know what kind of insurance you may have to offer your employees?

Is paying the penalty better than offering health insurance?

Ag Labor and Benefits Specialists from Fisher & Phillips, LLP will be giving an overview of the Affordable Healthcare Act (also known as ObamaCARE). While court rulings and aspects of the AHCA are still being decided, we will help demystify the regulations and possible mandates for your farm operation. This includes:
  • Play or Pay Mandate
  • IRS Definition of Seasonal vs. Full Time Workers
  • Regulations for Large and Small Employers
This workshop will have some valuable TAKE AWAYS so you don't leave feeling overwhelmed and confused. Everyone should leave with the tools and knowledge to decide your employee health insurance requirements regarding the Affordable Health Care Act mandate.

BONUS!!!
The speakers from Fisher & Phillips, LLC will also cover other labor specific topics such as:
  • H-2A: Overview, Options, Pitfalls and Approaches
  • Migrant and Seasonal Agricultural Protection Act (MSPA)
  • Retaliation, Trafficking, Whistle-blowing Issues
  • Highlights of Wage and Hour Issues (including expenses employers must cover, compensable hours worked, etc.)
