Easy Hands-on Analytics

Enter this hands-on session with a donor list, and leave with a prioritized prospect list.  We'll learn a few easy analysis techniques that can be used to identify your top prospects, and how these techniques can be used together to suss out prospect affinity and capacity.  Along the way, we'll also learn some fun and useful Excel tricks.

All registrants will receive a list of fields to pull from their database.  The instructor will also provide a dummy data set for any participants who do not choose to use their own organization's data.  Attendees are welcome to bring laptops to follow along in class, or just watch and learn, and apply the techniques later using the detailed session handouts.

Learning Objectives

  • Learn how to analyze prospect “velocity” (rate of giving increase)
  • Learn how to analyze prospect “density” (consistency of giving)
  • Learn how to create an RFM (recency, frequency, monetary) score
  • Learn how to apply these results to create ranked and segmented prospect lists
