       Dr. John Stewart, M.B., Ch.B., B.A.Sc.

                  The Future of Medical Inventions 

 New innovative uses of therapeutic and diagnostic energies are just beyond the  horizon.  This may necessitate special training for health professionals.

Background: Dr. Stewart is a medical doctor and bio-medical engineer. He taught courses on Biomedical Instrumentation for health professionals at Ryerson, Ottawa and Waterloo universities.  He was for 10 years a medical advisor with the Bureau of Medical Devices in Ottawa, where he was in charge of hospital safety of hazardous electro-medical equipment, such as pacemakers, electro-surgery, diathermy, electrotherapy, defibrillators, fetal monitors. He now heads his own company, Biophysica Incorporated where he has invented the first portable Transcranial Magnetic Stimulator (TMS) for depression, stroke etc, the first electromagnetic tumour shrinker for prostate and breast, the first portable FIR Alzheimer’s Helmet.
