Margolis & Bloom's Law School for Social Workers Program is geared specifically towards social workers who work with older adults and persons with disabilities and provides an opportunity to learn about a variety of legal topics.
The first hour of the program will focus on MassHealth eligibility for nursing home care. Topics include the following;
- Asset and income limits
- Transfer of assets
- How to protect the home
- How to protect the healthy spouse
The second hour of the program will focus on special needs planning. Topics include the following;
- Purposes of special needs trusts
- Types of special needs trusts
- Purposes if no MassHealth asset limit
- Or no need for MassHealth Under Affordable Care Act
- Choices of trustees
