Early Childhood Development Initiative Meeting – Forming a Peninsula Collaborative Action Team 

Since the last ECDI Salinas Working Session, several of you came forward to help plan for the Peninsula Collaborative Action Team to complete an Engagement Opportunity Request (EOR) document.  If Peninsula decides to seek technical support and capacity building services from ECDI, a well-rounded Collaborative Action Team needs to identify what services are needed to improve the ECDI indicators.

 The next Peninsula meeting will be:

 Date:   Monday, August 11, 2014

 Time:  6:00-8:00pm

 Location: Monterey Peninsula College (MPC) Child Development Center, 980 Fremont Street, Monterey CA

 A light dinner and toys for children will be provided.  Please RSVP so that we can ensure we have enough food, chairs and space for the meeting.

 During the meeting we will walk through the Engagement Opportunity Request (EOR) document and community members interested in providing input on the needs of the community will have a chance to give input.  We encourage you all to reach out to everyone you think should participate.  This is the opportunity for your community to direct the change needed.  Remember the goal is for cross-sector Collaborative Action Teams to include people from each of these categories: Education – superintendent, principal; early education provider; business leader; health/social service provider; faith leader; local government leader; community-based group; parent/parenting group; and a local elected official.
