Learn the Step-by-Step Process for Complying with Europe's CE Mark

The Illinois SBDC International Trade Center at the Industrial Council of Nearwest Chicago (ICNC) is pleased to partner with the Center for International Regulatory Assistance (CITRA) at Duquesne University to present this day-long workshop at ICNC. Facilitated by CITRA experts and the Illinois SBDC International Trade Center at ICNC, the workshop will cover:

  • What the CE mark is and its role in selling your products in Europe
  • Why and how to perform a CE product risk assessment
  • How to identify EU standards that apply to your products
  • Documentation your company needs to comply with CE
  • Creating a product technical file
  • Testing requirements and strategies for reducing testing costs
  • When, why and how to select a notified body or authorized representative
  • How ISO 9000 applies to CE
  • New developments in the CE system including ROHS

Participants will have the opportunity to formulate a step-by-step strategy for CE marking their products.

Course Fee: $35 for Illinois small business exporters (company must be based in Illinois, have less than 500 employees and justify course sponsorship at registration; training grant funds thanks to the Illinois Dept. of Commerce & Economic Opportunity); $600 for other participants
