CONTENT: This is a combination workshop that addresses two problematic issues that treatment providers face: what to do with dual disordered and relapsing clients. Learning objectives will include information on mental health assessment, counseling practices, and relapse dynamics. Participants will also learn to recognize relapse warning signs and how to formulate a plan of action with the client to avert or minimize the impact of a relapsing process. Participants will be able to institute their own working dual disorders’ program and refine a relapse prevention track for their clients.
INSTRUCTOR: Mike Taleff, Ph.D., CSAC: Dr. Taleff has an extensive background in mental health and substance abuse treatment, is a noted author and contributor to health care journals and as a faculty person at colleges and universities.
TARGET AUDIENCE: Pertinent to all working or interested in working in the substance abuse and mental health treatment field.
