Conference on research-based Literacy Strategies
in All Subject Areas

This conference focuses on instructional strategies for teachers to use in achieving higher literacy rates for students, methods for building a culture of reading across all curriculum areas, and workable solutions to engaging parents and other members of the learning community.

Send a team of at least four teachers per school to explore proven literacy and ELA strategies presented by MDE Literacy Coaches and other local, state and national experts.  Each team will develop a plan of action to implement with their students, school and parents.

WHAT

Conference sessions will include the following: 

• MDE Literacy Strategies
• Update on Immpact of Mississippi's Literacy Act
• ELA Common Core Strategies
• Strategies to Engage Parents and Families in Literacy
• Strategies for Effective PLC's
• Reading Intervention Strategies
• Reading and Writing Across the Curriculum

(1.0 CEU credit will be available for addional fee.)

WHO
School teams of instructional staff from all subject areas who will impact literacy in their schools and community.

REGISTRATION FEE
Registration feeis $150 per team member.
The fee includes breakfast and lunch (2 days), training materials, and refreshments. 

CEU CREDIT
Upon completion of the conference on Oct 10, participants will have the opportunity to complete paperwork for 1.0 CEU credit.  There is a $20 processing fee required at that time. Cash or checks will be accepted.

Conference is limited to 150 participants on a first-come, first-serve basis.
