Below is an overview of the organizations we will serve.  We join four other churches in the Boulder area to serve communities in ways that share the love of God with all of God's people.

Broomfield Skilled Nursing & Rehab Center Crafts with Kids.  Broomfield Nursing provides long term and short term care to older residents. They are excited to pair our youth with their residents to work on crafts.  They would like a group of 15 youth and 5 adults to come be in community and do fun crafts with their residents, providing joy, laughter, creativity and connection.  KIDS of all ages are encouraged!

CareConnect provides volunteer services to our older population.  Volunteers will have a choice between 1) working in 10 teams of 3 or 4 to help older folks with yard work at their homes throughout Boulder County, there are opportunities for children of all ages and requires moderate physical mobility; or 2) working as a team of 10 to fill Be Ready Bags and Blizzard Bags with supplies for people in need; to be at ALC and is for those who are not as able to be out and about.

Food Drives at local King Soopers to provide for the Sister Carmen and Atonement food banks.  Volunteers will work in teams to hand out flyers and invite shoppers to donate food.  This is offered for children of all ages and is one of the least physically and visually challenging projects.

Imagine! Boulder offers innovative support to people of all ages with cognitive, developmental, physical and health related needs so they may live fulfilling lives of independence.  Volunteers will have a choice between 1) car wash to clean their fleet of transportation vans, or 2) help with a yard project in Boulder.  The car wash is in Lafayette and welcomes children of any age, the yard project is in Boulder County and requests people 16 and older.

Love Day & Prayer Shawl Projects include helping to tie quilts, cut quilt squares and knitting or crocheting prayer shawls.  Volunteers can help with any or all of the projects taking place at Atonement. This is less physically challenging and should be reserved for our members who are not as able to be out and about.  Location is at Atonement.

Sister Carmen provides families with resources to support their efforts towards achieving economic stability.  They are about strengthening families and communities.  Volunteers will work together to help stock and organize the Thrift Store located on East Baseline in Lafayette, and also collect food at the King Soopers next door for the Sister Carmen Food Bank.

This year’s celebratory picnic lunch is from 12:30 to 2:00 at Christ the Servant Lutheran Church (CTS) in Louisville where members of all five churches will come together to celebrate and share stories about the morning experience.  We are offering boxed lunches from Subway with a choice of roast beef, turkey, ham, veggie, or a salad.  Each comes with chips and a cookie.  We and are looking for a few people to help hand out lunches and direct folks to seating, restrooms, and settle in as they arrive.  If you could help please contact me at wecareatonement@gmail.com or Luisa, in our Church Office, at 303-499-4567.
