Spring 2015. E-Commerce 101:

from Launch to Marketing

Are you interested in owing your own online store? Not sure which platform to choose, how to design your store, or where to spend your marketing budget? This 4-part series will familiarize you with all of the key topics you need to know in order to build a successful e-commerce business—starting with defining your website requirements and choosing the right platform and design for your needs. You will walk away with a detailed checklist that covers all of the important considerations needed to make the most informed decision. We will then cover each major function of operating an e-commerce business, placing particular emphasis on marketing, merchandising, fulfillment and customer engagement. Marketing topics will include SEO, social media, email, and affiliate marketing. Throughout the series we will discuss e-commerce best practices and how they can be applied to each aspect of running a successful online store. This is a beginner-level course with content that will also benefit and interest intermediate-level students.
