Presenting on "Discuss the use of techniques from Somatic therapies help to relieve anxiety and the effects of trauma"
Course Abstract:
The somatic therapies Body-Centered Psychotherapies are often considered the choice of treatment for trauma processing. Some of these therapies are Hakomi, Sensorimotor, Somatic Experiencing, EMDR, EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques, Mijdfullness, and Focusing.
I will introduce examples of specific interventions that can be used in therapy or just with oneself to become more grounded and present and therefore, more resourceful
Course Objective:
To know how to use at least 3 somatic interventions in a therapeutic process with yourself To know how to weave somatic interventions into a session with a client including examples To understand how somatic interventions affect the brain as· shown in brain scans.
