 Supporting Students Affected by Incarceration

A forum hosted by the Strengthening Families Affected by Incarceration Collaborative

About 1 in 6 Minnesota students in public schools have had an incarcerated parent. Among students attending alternative schools and juvenile correction facilities, the proportion is even greater. Join us on November 17 to learn about the impact of incarcerated parents on students and to participate in a discussion focused on finding ways to support these students in the classroom.

  • Learn the most recent information about youth in Minnesota who have been affected by incarceration and the challenges they experience at school.
  • Hear first-hand from a youth who had a parent in prison.
  • Share your ideas and experiences on ways to best support students with incarcerated parents.
