Program Description

This program is designed to aid the practitioner in evaluating the literature and applying it in their office. 

The primary objective of this program is to improve the practitioner’s ability to utilize evidence based literature in order to manage patient’s nutrition more effectively.  

Format
The program content will be presented in lecture format.

Outline

Hours 1-3: Making sense of negative nutrition studies

  • Detailed analysis of over ten studies with so-called “negative” results

Hours 3-5: Excitotoxicity and its link to neurological disorders

  • Detailed description of the negative effects of excitotoxic food substances and how they negatively affect the nervous system

Hour 5-7: Celiac Disease

  • Detailed literature review
  • Clinical pearls and testing
  • Non-GI manifestations

Hours 7-9: Epigenetics and obesity

  • Impact of endocrine disrupting chemicals on metabolism
  • Molecular mechanisms involved
  • Literature review and discussion

Hours 9-1: Body composition testing

  • Literature review and clinical application and interpretation

Hours 11-13: Estrogen metabolism and breast cancer

  • Detailed discussion of the impact of various estrogen metabolites on breast cancer risk
  • Testing options to determine risk

Hours 13-14: Vitamin D and MSK disorders

  • Literature review and discussion regarding the impact of vitamin D deficiency on MSK disorders

Hours 14-15: Vitamin K: more than just bones

  • Literature review and discussion regarding the impact of Vitamin K on bone health and cardiovascular disease
