Patent Seminar
Have you developed a product and are interested in figuring out how to safeguard the function? Are you an engineer who has created a new software model and want to know how to protect the design? Or are you just interested in learning about the patent
process and how it works? If you have any of these questions then attending this free seminar will help to unveil the daunting patent process.

Biographical information:
Jeffrey Siew graduated from Cornell University with a Bachelor of Science in Biology. He also earned a Master’s degree in both Biotechnology and Computer Science from Johns Hopkins University. Prior to coming to the USPTO he conducted research on the virus vaccines at the National Institutes of Health. For close to the past 20 years, he has worked as an examiner and a Patent Attorney at the United States Patent and Trademark Office. His responsibilities have ranged from the examination of biotechnology and bioinformatics applications to supervising an immunology examination department.
He received his law degree from George Mason University in 2005 and is licensed to practice in Virginia. He also worked in international policy department where he negotiated several treaties and international agreements in intellectual property. Currently he is working as quality assurance specialist. He is also part of the outreach team under USPTO’s Office of Innovation Development and Silicon Valley Office. Residing permanently in Ventura, he is responsible for outreach for the West Coast region, particularly Southern California.
