EXPLORING A YEAR OF OPENNESS IN CHILD WELFARE: DISSECTING A CHILD WELFARE CASE

Our next Child Welfare Legal Academy will continue to explore the theme of openness in the child welfare system by closely examining several composites of child welfare cases.  Richard Griffiths, Senior Editorial Director, CNN, will serve as interlocutor for a Fred-friendly panel.  Different Georgia child welfare professionals will be asked to play their roles of a mandated reporter, an intake worker, an investigator, a child welfare agency attorney (or SAAG) and a Juvenile Court Judge for two "ripped-from-the-headlines" scenarios.  The panelists will be asked to describe what their professional responses would be to the imaginary "facts" of each scenario.  Join us on Tuesday, October 28, from 1:30-3:45pm at the State Bar of Georgia for this panel discussion.

COST:
Registration:  $10  (cash/check at the door)
Registration + 2.0 CLE credits (GA Attorneys only):  $20 (cash/check at the door).
If you do not need CLE, you may simply pay the registration fee only.  For faster check-in, please have checks written and made payable to "Emory University."
