Two-day Immersive Workshop:
Join us to learn about what, why and how Model-Based Definition (MBD) and Model-Based Engineering (MBE) will optimize your business processes. Our style is to educate you fast and simply while explaining model-based philosophy, commercial and government standards that address model-based issues, and cover available technology with the goal of normalizing MBE/MBD expectations for all your organization’s stakeholders. Series 100 courses focus on business process, rather than a particular CAD technology. Series 200 courses focus on the specifics of implementing CAD using the SolidWorks CAD and PDM tool set.
Course 101: Model-Based Enterprise Boot Camp: 3D Model Based Enterprise (MBE) Orientation and Business Process Overview. Overview of the philosophy of institutionalizing a 3D model-based approach. Providing your organization’s decision makers and CAD implementers common ground on the fundamentals behind a model-based business process through clearly defined terms, benefits, risks and action plans. March 30, 2015 8:30 am – 12:00 pm
Course 102: Introduction to Model-Based Definition (MBD): Introduction and orientation to 3D dataset structure and annotation practices, using 3D Model-Based Datasets as all or part of the design deliverable. The purpose, application, rules, and best practices for 3D Product and Manufacturing Information (3D PMI) are explained. 3D PMI techniques, preferred presentation methods, options for annotation authoring, and adherence to standards are also presented. Includes an overview of the effects on design, manufacturing, inspection, assembly processes, and the supply chain. Learn best practices and rules to create 3D data sets and how the 2D product definition differs from 3D GD&T product definition. Rules and application techniques for applying PMI, GD&T and Annotations to 3D models. This seminar presents best practices for 3D Product Definition per ASME Y14.41 and provides an overview of upcoming ASME Y14 series modifications pertaining to MBD. March 30, 2015 1:00 pm – 4:30 pm
Course 103: Model Schema and Recommended Practice: Explaining the purpose of using a model schema and why you should spend time organizing your models. Methods to organize 3D data sets to comply with ASME Y14 series and MIL-STD-31000A. Rules and recommended practices for accurately and efficiently creating, authoring and managing 3D model and drawing and model-only data sets. Includes general schema rules and best practice for all CAD files, while also drilling into the detail of parts, assemblies, and drawings. March 31, 2015 8:30 am – 12:00 pm
Course 104: Model-Based Enterprise (MBE) Implementation Techniques: Implementing a model-based environment for your organization including data management, IT requirements, roles and responsibilities of the implementation team, and software and hardware requirements. Onsite Training Available
Have a larger group or would you prefer to learn about these topics in the context of your products with more focused discussion of where you are and what you need? Looking to build competitive skills in these areas to move ahead? We offer onsite training for all of our courses. Onsite training works great for larger groups (more than just a few people), and gives the freedom to discuss specific issues related to your products and processes privately.
Let us know if you would like a proposal for onsite training and consulting. We’d be happy to discuss your needs with you.
