The Small Business Development Center (SBDC) hosted by College of the Canyons (COC) serves Northern Los Angeles County – the Antelope, San Fernando, and Santa Clarita Valleys. We help prospective and existing small business owners start new businesses, tackle current business challenges, and develop the tools and methodologies necessary to successfully manage and grow their businesses. We provide workshops, trainings, one-on-one consulting engagements, networking and other resources to the business community.

We receive our funding from the SBA, COC, various state and municipal grants, and a wide variety of business partnerships. Fees for our consulting and advisory services are paid out of our various funding sources, which means your consulting engagement with SBDC Business Advisors is provided at no cost to you or your business, and our trainings and workshops are provided free or at a nominal cost. We are part of the Los Angeles regional network of SBDCs which serves businesses in Santa Barbara, Ventura and Los Angeles counties and affiliated with the state and national network of SBDCs which provide advisory services throughout California and the nation.

Whether you are an early stage entrepreneur or an established business, our team of business advisors can provide you with expert advice and guidance in a wide variety of disciplines including business plan development, obtaining small business and other certifications, using social networking tools to drive customers, developing a marketing plan, developing a financial forecasting model, completing loan applications for SBA and private funding or getting ready to pitch your business to an angel investor group.
