Building trust and ethical practices in the public sector is a challenge.  The problem: numerous high profile cases (such as the poor medical treatment for veterans) that give the general impression that nothing is working right in the public sector, which includes government, law enforcement, the judiciary, the military, and not-for-profits.  That perception makes it that much more difficult for agencies to perform well because lack of trust becomes a self-fulfilling prophesy. We desperately need to reverse this trend.

On Thursday, October 30, 2014 in Rochester, NY, Bill Benner will address this challenge.  Benner is working to develop tools for leaders in the public sector to use that will 1) measure the extent of the current problems, 2) characterize those issues so they can be understood, and 3) find ways to resolve the issues within any agency that wants to improve.

The target audience: any public service group that has a need to improve either its image or its track record in terms of having a high trust and ethical environment.  Also, to consultants and individuals who work with these groups as advisors. Learn about the cutting-edge tools that are now being used to reverse a negative trend that has been going on for years.

“This is a very important program for anyone working in the public sector to attend, especially senior leaders and managers,” says Bob Whipple a RABEF board member and a member of Conscious Capitalism Rochester, This is a group dedicated to support Conscious Capitalism, Inc., a not-for-profit organization dedicated to: 1. Support the elevation of humanity through Conscious Capitalism by delivering transformative thinking programs, events and communities of inquiry for leaders and others in companies, universities, non-profits and governments. 2. Create a credible "go to" source for information and inspiration about Conscious Capitalism, and on how to create a purpose-based business that creates value for all. 3. Serve as a hub for a global ecosystem of organizations and individuals interested in Conscious Capitalism.
“What people will take away is an existence proof that there is hope for improvement and a glimpse of what that looks like. These ideas are being used to change perceptions, and we need to start applying them in the Rochester area.”

“At the Rochester Area Business Ethics Foundation, we emphasize that ethics is not a one-time discussion but a year-round continuing conversation,” says RABEF president Twyla Cummings.
“We’re proud to partner with Conscious Capitalism Rochester to bring Bill Benner to Rochester to continue the conversation.”
