Emory Law School Gambrell Hall - Tull Auditorium 1301 Clifton Road Atlanta, GA 30322
Join us for an engaging presentation with Howard Davidson, J.D., Director of the American Bar Association's Center on Children and the Law. Mr. Davidson will focus on the provisions of the Child Abuse Prevention and Treatment Act (CAPTA, the primary federal law governing confidentiality and information-sharing in child abuse and neglect cases) and how they have evolved over the past 40 years. Learn about the early emphasis on keeping records private and the shift toward allowing states to make public certain information about a child fatality or near-death due to child abuse or neglect. Future directions for the law and policy will also be discussed.
