Just in time for Halloween, CalAPA's legislative advocate, Jeff Sievers, with the firm Carpenter Sievers Takahama, will be the featured speaker and will give the group an update on the just-completed Legislative session at the Capitol, the upcoming mid-term elections and other political and legislative 
insight. He will regale the group with scary but true tales of so-called "Zombie Bills," horrifying "gut-and-amend" tactics by our enemies, and the rapidly disappearing friends we have at the Capitol. It's not all bad news, however. CalAPA scored a number of wins in Sacramento this year, defending our turf and fending off potentially gruesome bills and regulations. In addition, the meeting will feature, a "technical tidbit" from Steve Marvin from Labelle-Marvin, and the insurance update by Steve Cota with Patriot Risk & Insurance. A "Member of the Month" will also be featured.
The CalAPA Contractors' Dinner is the paving industry's premier event to socialize in a relaxed setting, enjoy delicious food and stay current with the latest industry trends, technical updates and more. Each dinner features a industry-specific presentation and "news you can use" on a number of topics, such as insurance, HR, technical aspects of paving and more.
