2nd Annual Pacific Northwest Employment Forum 2014

Join us for 2 days of learning and networking with other advocates, family members, employment specialists, educators, employers, policymakers, and anyone interested in advancing employment for all!  The Pacific NW Employment Forum focuses exclusively on integrated employment of individuals with disabilities. This event, sponsored by Oregon APSE and Washington APSE along with other sponsors in the Pacific Northwest, will bring together people to share ideas about best practices and innovations to make employment a reality for all.  This event is open to APSE members as well as non-members.

Event Highlights!

We are honored to announce that we will be showing a video recording of a special keynote address from Senator Tom Harkin, a longtime supporter and advocate for supported employment.  Senator Harkin was the recipient of the  National APSE 2014 Torch Award, which was given by the Executive Director of National APSE in  recognition of lifetime achievement in working toward the mission of APSE.

Debra McLean Threlkeld, Marsha - 2012

Our morning keynote will kick off with the   sharing and celebration of the innovative work  being done in the Pacific Northwest in finding and creating integrated employment opportunities.

This will be facilitated by Marsha Threlkeld of WISE and National Consultant, Trainer and Oregon APSE Board Member, Debra McLean.

On our first day, you will have the opportunity to attend the Washington APSE or Oregon APSE State Chapter Meetings, where you will learn more about what our state chapters are doing and contribute your ideas on what you would like to see happen in your state.  These meetings are optional, and will include a free lunch for those who attend.  Make sure RSVP for the meeting when you register!

This event is designed to provide information as well as an opportunity to network and share ideas.

We will celebrate employment victories in the Pacific Northwest through sharing information from a variety of presenters from around the Northwest, as well as provide opportunities to strategize in large and small groups through town hall discussions and a networking reception.

We will also feature a keynote address from national presenter and advocate   Bev Harp  from the University of Kentucky.  Click here to watch a video of Bev Harp's presentation at this year's National APSE Conference! _____________________________________________________________________________________
