Dr. Stephen Shore discusses how recent weather, geological, and man made disasters point to a yawning gap in supporting both people with autism as well as first responders in preparing for and acting when encountering a person with autism during times of disaster. Based on the presenter’s work in Japan and Thailand, first responders such as EMTs, law enforcers, firefighters and other participants will come away with practical solutions and key resources for successful education and helping people with autism for when disaster strikes.
