* Please Note: All competitors are required to have some form of whistle on board while racing. Please note all competitors under 12 must wear a PFD (1,2, or 3). Otherwise a PFD (1,2, or 3) is required to be attached to your board at all times.

Windhaven Insurance Orange Bowl Paddle Championships presented by Blue World Paddle

WHO?

Building on the success of our previous years the Orange Bowl Paddle Championship will feature nearly 250 racers and thousands of spectators. Local celebrities, paddle professionals, participants and spectators will join “littles” in the largest paddle clinic in the world. We will once again look to draw the world’s top elite competitors in paddle boarding as well as hundreds of recreational amateur participants.

WHAT?

The OBPC event provides three courses (Elite, Recreational and Sprint). Winding its way in and around Virginia Key, the Orange Bowl Paddle Championship is a unique course.

Core events will be held at Miami Rowing Club, right next to the historic Miami Marin Stadium

WHEN?
 
May 9, 2015 - Onsite registration will begin at 7:30 AM and end at 8:30 AM. The Elite Race will start at 9:00 AM, with the Recreational Race starting at 9:10AM (please note the time change), Corporate Race at 12:00pm and concluding with the Sprint Race at 1:00PM. Closing ceremonies and prizes to follow at the conclusion of the Sprint Race.

WHY?

The Windhaven Orange Bowl Paddle Championship presented by Blue World Paddle is a charity–driven event with a focus on children and community. All funds raised by the event will go to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Miami to fund mentorship activities in the area.

CASH PRIZES!

Cash prizes will be given to the top three men and women of the Elite race for both 12'6" and 14' boards. (There must be at least three entries in a class for a cash prize to be awarded). The payouts are as follows:

1st Place = $500
2nd Place = $300
3rd Place = $200

Medals and "product swag" will be given to the winners of the recreastional races.

 

All participants registered prior to Wednesday, May 6th will be entered to win a Paddle Board, graciously donated by Adventure Sports.
