The Impact Awards has developed into SLI’s signature national event that attracts over 250 supporters annually. Featuring many former athletes and distinguished guests from around the country, this event raised nearly $350,000 for concussion prevention, education, and research in 2013.

The 2014 Impact Award, which honors individuals and organizations who have made a significant contribution to our mission “to advance the study, treatment, and prevention of the effects of brain trauma in athletes and other at-risk groups,” will be given to US Women’s Soccer legends Brandi Chastain and Cindy Parlow Cone, who have been spokespersons for Safer Soccer campaign, which seeks to eliminate headers in youth soccer prior to high school to reduce the risk of concussion in youth soccer players.

Event Committee
