                                                   Chenrezig Sand Mandala

The Chenrezig Drubchen with Lama Konchok Sonam and Khenpo Chophel starts on Friday, October 24th at 7pm and ends at 8pm on Sunday, October 26th. Practice is maintained by participants around the clock for world peace and for harmony and happiness within our families and among our friends. The tremendous blessings are from Chenrezig, the Buddha of Compassion. This is a rare opportunity to help bring joy and peace to our world.

Engaging in this practice heals us collectively from recent and past catastrophic and traumatic events such as: the remergence of Ebola virus, the ongoing challenges to peace in the Middle East and inner and outer obstacles to peace an happiness for all peoples and nations. It also keeps the elements in harmony so that problems such as great flooding will be pacified. We will also dedicate the drubchen to the 132 Tibetans who self-emolated so that they can realize their goal of peace and harmony within their homeland. May all sentient beings be free from suffering.

Meaning of "Drubchen"
"
Drubchen" literally means "great accomplishment" in Tibetan and is one of the most precious forms of Vajrayana Buddhist practice.
A drubchen is a rare opportunity to concentrate body, speech, and mind in spiritual practice- resulting in realization and merit to sustain spiritual development in this and future lives.  Participating in a drubchen is said to generate merit and potential realization equal to one year of retreat or seven years of practice. This precious lineage of the Buddha of Compassion, Chenrezig, ripens our inate nature bringing benefit to ourselves, our families and the greater environment. Dedicating the practice to all sentient beings extends this benefit and enhances world peace and prosperity.

At the Drubchen
The mandala of Chenrezig will be maintained with the support of Lama Sonam and Khenpo Choephel throughout the entire drubchen.
As we practice around the clock, the evening/night session will offer opportunity to sleep in shifts while maintaining the mandala.

In addition to World Peace, the drubchen also presents a very special opportunity to benefit those loved ones who have passed way or are in
need of spiritual or material help. If you cannot join the drubchen,
making a donation to the support of the Drubchen on their behalf will enable great merit to be generated for them.

Joining the Drubchen
Friday evening attendance is encouraged however, any previous Chenrezig empowerment is the prerequisite for joining the drubchen. Please come and go as you schedule permits.

The Chenrezig empowerment will be bestowed by Khenpo Chopel Rinpoche, the Spirtual Director of Three Rivers Dharma in Pittsburg, PA and our beloved spiritual friend. Khenpo- la and Lama Sonam will be there throughout.

Participants may stay for the whole drubchen. Bring a sleeping bag, towel and whatever you may need to be comfortable. We will not be showering, but can wash up.
All meals are included.
Lama asks that we bring our own cup and bowl to maintain the traditional drubchen way and to simplify kitchen duties.
