How Covercrops & Scarecrows Help on the Farm
For many years farmers have planted covercrops in their fields as a way to easily improve their soil. We will talk about what covercrops are; discuss some of the different choices available for planting, and how they grow. Each child will take home a 1/4 pound of covercrop seed to plant at home. At this meeting we will also share stories of what has grown in our gardens this year while we make a scarecrow for fall display at the garden center.
